Canoeing Checklist

CHECKLIST

You may wish to adjust this list to your individual needs.  This is a Help list!

GENERAL

____2 towels for Swim use and River use

____Camera (waterproof/waterproof container suggested)

____Money:  Cash/check for paying remainder of your fees to the Museum**

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FOSSIL HUNTING RIVER TRIPS

____Hat
____Sunglasses (if needed)
____Outfit in which to get dirty (Shorts are recommended). For cooler weather you may want to layer as it is cool in the mornings.
____Complete change of clothes works great (when coming off the River.  Leave these in car,  not to be taken in canoes on the River)
____Water Shoes ( or old sneakers) WEARING SHOES IS A REQUIREMENT FOR RIVER TRIPS TO AVOID GLASS (NO FLIP-FLOPS OR UNENCLOSED CROCS)
____Sunscreen
____Backpack (small, waterproof) to keep hands free for fossil hunting
____Plenty of water (recommend each person has individual bottles)
____Food for Lunch and for Snacks

NOTE: Fossil Hunting equipment is loaned by the Museum

CAMPERS:  Those camping at the campgrounds may want to consider this list:

____Tents or RV
____Tarps for under tents
____Sleeping bags or air mattresses and pad
____Utensils for cooking
____Cook stove
____ Matches for campfires and stove (put in waterproof container)
____Paper towels
____Dish Soap
____Hand or Bar soap
____Hand towels
____Extra towels for Pool use
____Can opener
____Dish Towels
____Paper plates
____Plastic forks, spoons, knifes
____Bug spray “off” or equivalent
____Fire ant bite stick
____Other first aid supplies
____Hand-wipes
____Money for store (if you don’t bring everything)

____Cooler (a small cooler is helpful the day of the River and beach trips)

(There are banks in town.)

** If you are staying at the campground or a Motel, Checks, Cash, or Credit card payments are to be made out to those individual institutions.
